An Eldar Grav tank most of the work is done on this. Just need to get magnets and magnetise the Falcon and Fire prism weapons for it so I can switch between. On top of that I considered doing fallen leaves on the body in the opposite colour from the area it's on so a leaf on a blue section would be yellow and vice version. Considered this for fluff reasons. Iyanden is a slowly dying craftworld I thought Autumn leaves would be a good representation. On the other hand all my eldar have plain bone coloured weapons to reflect that they have no time for decoration. Tanks however are not as easily destroyed so maybe some leaves would look good. Suggestions?
Thats pretty damned cool How did you do the yellow shading? Its really effective. From what I've seen of Eldar gear the vibrant colours can clash horribly, having them muted for an autumnal effect is quite an elegant solution
The yellow paints from the new GW range are probably the best thing about the range. What I did was start with a base coat of Averland Sunset, then moved up to Yriel Yellow then mixed in some Ivory fromt he Vallejo range gradually building up the highlight of the yellow, then a little sepia wash to mute it down a bit again. Wasn't really autumnal colours more the design of fallen leaves in the yellow and blue that is already on the tank. I'm not sure if I'm going to go ahead with that I may just paint the craftworld symbol onto certain parts of the tank and leave it at that. While I'm considering what to do with it though I've moved on to working on my Rangers so keep an eye out for them.
Sounds good, I never have the patience or foresight to shade properly. The yellows in the old range were absolutely dire so to hear that the new range ones are pretty good is a plus. That colour scheme on rangers should be pretty cool.
